This workshop will assess the current state-of-the-art on mathematical modeling for resource recovery on carbon, nutrients, and other valuable resources. More specifically, it aims to evaluate whether the current models are developed enough to satisfy the requirements of the resource recovery community and if not, what should the main research directions be to focus on. The scope of the workshop covers the state-of-the-art in resource recovery modeling with considerations about their integration in plant-wide models and subsequent sustainability evaluation.
